NEW CRITICAL THEORY

New Critical Theory Series has been launched in cooperation with Multimedia Institute from Zagreb. Programmatically, the Series is dedicated to affirmation of cosmopolitan discourse which needs to free itself from old, universalistic nostalgia. This is a publishing project which aims at rescuing normative capacities of jeopardized democratic discourse which increasingly looses its international respect. We are witnessing the fact that globalized citizenship does not display any particular loyalty to constitutional, procedural democracies established upon historical pluralization of nation-states. Unitary model of democracy conforming more of less homogeneous nation-states does not function any more. Our Series will publish books which restore reliance upon self-critical, pluralistic spirit of democracy, since democracy is nothing else but politics of production of differences. If otherwise, democratic discourse will be reduced to ritual legitimization of social and political movements established outside of, and often even against, democratic institutions and procedures.
